Address and Directions
3749 Snake River Rd, Island Park, ID 83429
Do not follow GPS navigation for the last few miles — it will take you onto unmaintained forest roads. Follow these written directions instead:
- Traveling north on Hwy 20 through Island Park, turn left at the Elk Creek Gas Station onto Yale-Kilgore Rd.
- Head directly west and cross the McCrae Bridge. (Stop following GPS here.)
- After the bridge, take the third left (south) onto Rancho McCrea Rd.
- Follow the paved road to the end where you will see a flashing red light and the entrance to the Rancho McCrea subdivision.
- Go through the entrance and follow the curve, taking the second right onto Lodgepole Ln, then an immediate left on Sawtelle Rd/Snake River Rd.
- When the road comes to a T, turn right to stay on Snake River Rd.
- Follow Snake River Rd to the intersection of Flower Ln/McCrea Dr. The cabin is on the right after that intersection.
Please reach out if you have any trouble finding the cabin!
Parking
Vehicles: Up to 7 vehicles can park comfortably in the driveway. Please only park on the property — no street parking is available. Note the orange and white pole markers. During winter, only the plowed sections are available for parking.
Trailers: The property has a large pull-through driveway. Capacity varies by season:
- In summer, trailers up to 30 feet can fit.
- In winter, only trailers under 16 feet are advisable due to snow banks narrowing the roads and driveway.
If additional parking is needed, the Stamp Meadows parking lot is a maintained year-round pullout nearby. Parking is free. Map pin.

Heating and Cooling
The main heater is in the living room corner. Two cadet heaters with thermostats are on the main floor: one under the bar and one near the TV. Do not place anything on top of, in front of, or touching any heat source. Upon check-out, set all thermostats to 65.
In summer, a standing air conditioning unit is available. Please reach out if you need help locating or operating it.
